My Story

At Bespoke Traveler I hope to connect people to unexpected ways of thinking about travel. This space is for anyone interested in practicing the art of paying attention. I want to provide fellow travelers of all ages and means with narratives that go beyond listicles to search for personal lessons amid environmental issues, social complications, and design concerns. Through examining various cultures, redefining geography, and questioning the past, my wish is to encourage everyone who visits this digital corner to pursue their own purposeful adventures.

I believe travel should be about exploration and open curiosity. I believe that travel can be a means of changing perceptions, it can be a source of wonder, it can help us connect with one another in meaningful ways. I also know that travel can be incredibly harmful to the environment and the lives of the people whose spaces are senselessly invaded. Therefore, how we travel is an important burden to keep in mind. I travel with a willingness to learn, to use all of my senses in order to discover stories about the world we live in, to reshape myself, and to gain a deeper understanding of systems at work.

I look forward to having you join me on my bespoke travels as we pursue and expand on these conversations.

  1. I made it a goal to travel somewhere new every month of 2015 so I’m excited to find your blog for some last minute adventure on months I don’t have planned 🙂

  2. Have just come across your blog and it is really great!! And love the photos! Would love it if you could check out mine too! Keep going 🙂

  3. What a rich blog. Both escape and resource. Thank you for alerting me to your presence by stopping by my blog and following me. I’ll try to live up to yours. And I will know where to turn when I am planning to travel which will, hopefully, be soon.

  4. Love the idea of this blog, or better yet: mission. I think every travel, every journey is or should be transformational. At least for me it is. And the key to the transformation is the contact with people, not just mere admiring of buildings, sights etc., but engaging with locals as much as possible. Keep up the good work! Hope some day I will do something similar 🙂

  5. Thanks so much for following my blog. I am glad your enjoyed some of my birthday ‘jolly’ blogs (from March). I had such a fab time visiting lots of places in Sussex and seeing lots of history and wonderful places there. I’ve written them all up and if you scroll through you will find other places I have visited as well. Thanks so much, glad you found me and liked them all. 🙂 More to come soon.
