Blackberry Rises

Blackberries, also known as bramble berries, are summer’s blood in Maine. They, like hiking and trampling through the native woodlands, remind us of carefree childhood vacations spent collecting memories and wild fruit. The buckets used to collect the berries have long disappeared, but our remembrances of pricked fingers, purple stained tongues, and the aroma of crushed berries still remains. Nowadays we still look for wild blackberries to pick in Maine’s Acadia National Park to transform into jams, pies, and smoothies. Here is our take on a smoothie made with delicious New England blackberries.
